Worker At Corporate Park In Westchester Nabbed In String Of Bomb Threats Causing Evacuations

A weekslong investigation into four separate bomb threats that were called in to a busy corporate park in Westchester led to the arrest of a White Plains man working at the building who allegedly called in the phony threats.

The Greenburgh Police Department has been investigating four reported bomb threats that took place at the corporate park at 660 White Plains Road on separate occasions between Thursday, Sept. 13 and Wednesday, Sept. 19, Police Capt. Brian Ryan announced on Wednesday.

Ryan noted that following each bomb threat, police were dispatched to the corporate park to assist in the evacuation of the six-story building, which is occupied by 30 businesses and more than 400 employees.

Greenburgh Police Special Operations Officers were assisted by the Westchester County Bomb Squad during each instance, to assist in searching for potential devices.

Police said that no incendiary devices, explosives or potential threats were found in the building during any of the sweeps, which included bomb-sniffing dogs.

The investigation into the threats led police to 22-year-old White Plains resident David Prieto, who was employed as a sub-contractor by building management. He was arrested this week and charged with four counts of filing a false report, all felonies.

Prieto was arraigned in the Town of Greenburgh Justice Court and remanded to the Westchester County Jail in Valhalla in lieu of $100,000 bond or $50,000 cash bail. Prieto is due back in court on Friday, Sept. 28 to address the charges.
